The Amendments to the Harmonized System 2007 Nomenclature

This brochure presents all of the amendments to the Nomenclature appended to the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System which have been accepted as a result of the Customs Co-operation Council Recommendation of 26 June 2004 and scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2007. All of the legal texts of the amendments have been reproduced and their background, nature and scope are briefly explained. The amendments are commented on individually item by item.
The introduction sets out the origin and general scope of the updating project and outlines the rules for assigning code numbers to the subheadings created or amended. The Annexes provide specific information on the scope of the amendments.
This brochure is designed to facilitate the interpretation and implementation of the legal texts, but is only a guide and has no legal status.
